I am always looking for beautiful ways to make art and have fun at the same time, so when Alexandra contacted me to do a Trash the Dress session, I was all over it. Not only is she extremely beautiful, but we had the perfect location in mind and everything — weather, light, temperatures, and location — came together in a perfection that is truly rare. There are so many shots I love from this session that it’s almost impossible to choose which I love the best. So here is a small sampling.
The thing about Trash the Dress sessions is that it’s not actually necessary to destroy the dress; most times, and soiling that happens to the dress will come right out with a quick brushing or a cleaning, and in this case that’s exactly what happened. Alexandra’s dress, even though it was in the river, cleaned up just fine afterwards. So if you’re planning on keeping your dress, we can always find a way to do a unique, fun shoot in it and not do irreversible damage to it.
I love shooting maternity sessions; I don’t think there’s anything more beautiful than a new mother. She has a glow around her that can’t be found anywhere else, and that happiness is contagious. Please contact me for information about my Maternity sessions and products available.
I was blessed last Saturday to be invited to shoot a maternity session for Trina and her little girl Brynlee, who is doomed to be the most girly-girl little baby on the planet! Trina’s adorable and can’t take a bad picture, and we just laughed and laughed and laughed during the shoot. She wanted to shoot with all the food she’s been craving during her pregnancy, and also with the (seemingly) MILLIONS of pairs of shoes Brynlee already owns.
Having been around weddings for a long time, it’s easy to tell a couple who is truly good together, and Morgan and Brian are very much the definition of “good together.” What a delightful couple. We met at Tempe Town Lake and discovered that the places we wanted to shoot were occupied with a bicycle race, a wedding and a quinceanera, so we punted and found locations to shoot anyway, and got some lovely stuff. I am excited for their wedding in April!
November 12, 2011 was supposed to be nasty and raining and cold for Ariane and Ryan’s wedding. We were expecting the worst but got blessed with the best! A beautiful bride and groom, a great family, a fantastic property, and a magnificent sunset to crown a truly exhilarating wedding day. Ariane and Ryan are super sweet, just good people who have terrific chemistry, and it shows in the way they treat one another and also everyone around them. I am grateful to have been able to share their day and to photograph them. Thank you!

I love marching bands. I was in marching band all the way through high school and on into college, and actually earned money with my mediocrity as a brass player for a while. So when my daughter decided to join the marching band, I was thrilled! She was blessed to be a member of the Coronado High School Dons marching band, which has a long history of quality, pride and skill. I try to make as many shows as I can, and I always have my camera with me. To view the gallery, please click here — this gallery is passworded, so if you are a parent of a Dons Band member, please contact me for a password.
Justin’s a dynamic senior with huge talents. Juggler, performer, flutist, athlete, parkour runner, Christian, and all-round solid young man. We met up last Thursday and did his senior portraits. We had a great time and got loads of fun photos! I would seriously injure myself if I tried three quarters of the things he does with ease. Amazing!
On a beautiful rainy day in Sedona, Allison and Kyle were joined together before close friends and family in a small ceremony at L’Auberge Hotel. Initially intended to be outdoors by Oak Creek, the rains came and so we were moved indoors. Allison didn’t let this put a damper on the day, though, and we took advantage of the beautiful diffused light and the spectacular locations to get some stunning photos both before and after the wedding. Allison’s flowers were prepared by Bliss Extraordinary Floral of Sedona to augment Allison’s beauty. Enjoy!
Allison and Kyle are getting married in October at L’Auberge in Sedona. They are such a lovely couple, fun and sweet together. Good-looking, too, but that’s just a bonus to how much fun we had shooting in a gazillion degree heat in Scottsdale. We couldn’t tell that they were sweating like crazy, because the photos came out so well. Engagement sessions are included in most of my wedding coverage packages. If you’re getting married somewhere else, I can do an engagement session for you here in Arizona too! Contact me for details and to schedule a consultation.
Okay, it’s actually summertime. Sharett and Matt came over for the first of a series of maternity photo sessions. We had a great time, and Sharett is SO CUTE with her baby bump just poking out. Mothers-to-be have a glow about them that feeds the soul, and when we added Sharett’s husband Matt to the photos, it got truly special. I am very excited to document Baby’s development. 🙂

Yesterday afternoon I had the opportunity to photograph Danielle and Bob’s lovely family. The last time I saw these two little girls they were mere babies! How time flies. Adorable blonde hair flying in the wind, bright blue eyes flashing in excitement in the marvelous weather made for some wild and crazy and fun photos!
